The makers have taken the initiative to send the movie to Oscar for its story even though it did not do well at the box office. People of India have not yet forgotten the story of bravery and heroism of Jaswant Singh Gill in the horrific accident at Mahabir coal mine in Raniganj, India on November 11, 1989. Engineer Jaswant Singh alone saved 65 miners. Tinu Suresh Desai has brought that incident 34 years ago on the big screen.
